Gowri Chitti Engagement

  Gowri Chitti engagement was on December 15th,2010. Another special thing about that day is, it happens to be a anniversary day for my parents. All of us - me, amma, appa, chittappa, thatha and paati started from chennai on December 14th night and reached bangalore on 15th morning. Saroja paati got home made gulab jamoon for my parents as a gift for their anniversary.
We all reached home and got ready and reached mandapam @ around 9:00 AM in the morning and then later we had our breakfast over there. But Appa and mama were missing in the mandapam. Amma was anxiously waiting for appa and mama. When phoned they told us that mama's bike got punctured hence the delay in reaching the mandapam. But to the surprise was that appa had planned a anniversary gift for amma. So he and mama purchased the gift and then reached the mandapam @ around 10:30 only. Guess the surprise gift for amma - It was a SAMSUNG Mobile Phone......... yeah yeah....coooooool. She was very happy for such a wonderful and surprise gift.
Later appa and mama had a breakfast. Meanwhile engagement function started too. I was playing and moving around with Anu akka.


                               


                               


                               
Engagement got over by 12:30. Everybody was busy in chit chatting. @ 1:30 we all finished our Lunch and returned back home @ around 3:00 PM. Later slept for while. Then in the later part of the day, after the dinner we started back to Chennai same day in 10:15 PM train.

Thiruthani Visit for Mottai and ear piercing - Eleventh Month

As a tradition, Mottai and ear piercing for me was planned in Eleventh Month. Now I am in eleventh month. So thatha, paati and my parents planned for this big event on December 12th, 2010 in Thiruthani - Family god.


So we started from Chennai @ around 7:00 AM in the morning from Chitlapakam (Tambaram) to Thiruthani. On the way picked up Ananya akka, Priya perima, Balachandar periappa and his mother from Adambakkam. At around 8:30 we stopped @ a place to finish our breakfast. Breakfast was yummy - Pongal, idli and Pumpkin alwa. After having breakfast we started again around 9:15 AM.

Around 11:45 we reached Thiruthani. Guess it was a ausipicous day, it was damn crowded, traffic was damn jammed and we entered into a temple @ around 12:15.

First thing was mottai, mama and appa dressed themselves in the respective attire and took me to the place specific for mottai. I sat on mama's lap, initially I was silent but then later I started crying when that person started doing something on my head. Atlast it was done.. ( No hair's on my head).
Mama and appa took me to another place for giving me bath., later after having a bath, amma dressed with a new dress gifted by Saroja Paati.

Next thing is ear piercing. So we all were waiting for achari. He came around 1:15 only. Then amma made me to sit mama's lap. Initially I was happy and was playing with mama. Suddenly achari took a needle came towards me and pierced my two ears and inserted a new earning in the pierced hole. I started crying, everybody around started consoling me. So ear piercing is also done.

Later we all thought after offering prayers to god then we can have lunch. So we moved, It was big queue and we stood there for more than a hour. After offering prayers, we moved out and finished our lunch and then started back to chennai @ around 4:00. We reached chennai @ around 7:00. Nice and bit tiring journey..

Tenth Month

This month I started practicing my standing skills. To some extend standing skills was achieved because of the walker. Ramesh Chittappa, thanks for the wonderful gift!. I was bold enough to stand with a support independently. But not without a support, that needs a practice.

Ninth Month

This month I was able to Crawl, Sit independently. Next target is - to stand independently. I understand this is quite a challenging task, but got to achieve it. Ramesh Chittappa bought me a walker to practice the walking skills. I was roaming around the house with the help of walker. Sometimes I used to cribb, as mom and dad would make me sit in the walker and they continue their work. But with the walker I am able to move throughtout the house instead of crawling which I used to do earlier.

Eigth Month

Eight month started, yet another set of goals are in pipeline and I am working hard to achieve the same.This month I was improving my sitting skills day by day. 

Was able to sit independently with partial support.  ( I am holding pillow for partial support)

Days passed, with all the efforts, now I am able to sit independently without any support.

Good, it's proper now. Bhagyam paati take out your hand, I want to sit independently!!!

Seventh Month

Right from this month's beginning started to crawl. But only after more efforts over a period of days was able to crawl in full swing. Finally on August 17th, just a day before Varalaskmhi Nombhu, I crossed the 'Vaasa Padi'. 
What a achievement isn't it?
So now I am a full swing crawler. Also you know, I was parallely working on the 'Sitting' practice as well. So now I am able to sit in a chair with a back support but still can't still independently.

Sixth Month

Sixth month yet another achievement in the first week.  Was able to lift my head up properly turning backward. Appa clicked few snaps of those golden achievements.

After this, next course of targeted action would be crawling. So looking forward to achieve the next target goal. Later in the last week of this month, I started to crawl a short distance ofcourse.

Fifth Month

I stepped into 5th month with a great achivement. You know what? On June 2nd, 2010 I turned backward. It happens to be a great activity for me as I was trying this since few weeks and was succeeded on my fifth month birthday   

Amma please hold my hand I am scared, I am trying to turn backward. 

Yeah I turned back, turned back. Hip Hip Hurray!!!       

I turned back, but still I got to lift my head up! Still that is pending activity. 

Bit tired after turning backward, let me sleep for a while , pls don't distrub.

After turning backward, my next course of activity was to life my head up and was trying and trying.

Mission continues................ trying for achievement.

So finally towards the month end I could see slight improvment in my target goal i.e., I was able to lift my head up slightly and see others but not completely though.

Yeah...I am lift my head to certain level.... gr8...keep going...Prathyu!!!

Fourth Month

Fourth month arrived, my activities are getting improved. Now I am able to recognize amma voice and other's voice in phone too.

Parallely  I am trying to turn backward and extending all my strengths towards that action. At the same time preparing to move to hot chennai from cool bangalore as Amma's ML will get over this month end and propably from next month onwards she would start going to office, and I would be missing her a lot :-(


So on May 29th night we started from Bangalore to chennai and reached singara (hot) chennai @ around 4:30 AM in the morning. Appa had come to Central to pick me, amma and paati. Just after reaching home I played for a while later like a jetlag I was sleeping most of the time. This continued for a week's time.

Third Month

So Now I am in third month, I can recognize amma's voice, also if anybody calls my name I will be able to recognize it as well.                               
Most of the time my activities would be blabbering with some sounds and playing and ofcourse sleeping habits continues this month too.
This month there was a vaccination scheduled, Appa had a plans to visit bangalore. So amma and me decided to go to doctor for vaccination when dad was here.
Appa came on April 10th, morning. Amma had a appointment with doctor for vaccination same day in the evening. So @ around 5:00 we got ready and started to doctor. Before leaving to doctor, appa wanted to take a snap with me in the new dress gifted by dorai thatha for Ayush homam. Amma clicked a snap in that new dress.

We went to doctor and vaccination was given to me and we came back home @ around 8:00. I enjoyed playing with dad. Next day night he left to chennai.

Just after 4 days was Tamil New year. So Bhagyam gifted me a dress for the same. On April 14th, the day was very cloudy and was drizzling most of the time. I didn't sleep properly previous days properly, hence was sleeping most of the time. Later in the evening  amma made me wear the gifted new dress after having fresh french bath. Because of the bad weather I was feeling very lazy to play too hence was sleeping most of the time.

My naming ceremony... March 2nd, 2010

Dorai Thatha had organised my Naming Ceremony @ 'Raghavendra Party Hall' & Bangalore. All of them were there for this occassion. Veedu 'jay jay' nu irundhadhu. 
Everybody got ready by 8:00 AM in the morning, even me too , had a oil bath wore new dress bought by Saroja paati and was all set to leave. Around 9:00 all of them were in Part hall. All had their breakfast and it was yummy! ( I didn't taste it, but heard everybody saying it as it was prepared by Suersh!!!!). So function started. Mom, dad, Chittappa and even Mama too were discussing about the 'name'. Finally they selected three names for me - 'Poorani', 'Prathyusha' and 'Padmasini'. All the names are excellent isn't it?

Since I woke up too early in the morning was sleeping most of the time during the function. Anu and madhulika akka's are waking me up to play with them. Sorry akka's I am feeling very sleepy, let me sleep for a while.

Naming ceremony got over. I was fully tired sleeping... so thought play for a while and pose for the photo. Appa got me a 'elephant' pillow, so mom clicked a snap when I was sleeping on the pillow.

Just Born.....

To my parents expectation to be a girl baby, Mom delivered me , her sweet little darling on this day!
A big day for me and mom. Both me and my mom were crying. Mom cried because of happiness, and me
because of the fear that, I'll not be that close to my mom as when I was in her womb.
So a big day for both of us. So I am now in the new world. Hip Hip Hip.....Hurray!!!!
